At 11 AM, William Peck will give a presentation on "Pennsylvania Soldier's Orpah Schools 1864 - 2009." The event is held inside the original Franklin Academy building, which became part of a school for children orphaned during the Civil War. The Soldiers Orphan School is located at 2238 Orphan School Road in Kingsley, Pennsylvania. Used books are donated to the historical society, and proceeds from the sale are used for maintence of the old building. Book sale is cash only - Hardcovers 50 cents and paperbacks 25 cents. The Conference starts with dinner at 5:30 PM Wednesday and concludes with Sunday Dinner at 12:30 PM. Bible studies are held twice daily in the Dreyer Lodge Chapel. Overnight accomadations rates available and commuters are welcome to the morning and evening sessions. To register call 570-278-1001. For communters there is no charge for the sessions, but contributions are appreciated to help us sponsor these programs. Meals are available for commuters to purchase.
